Chloe Goodman, once a star of Celebrity Big Brother, had dreamt of a blissful honeymoon in Bali with her footballer husband, Grant Hall. The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony, had their sights set on a serene escape. But thanks to relentless trolling and the chaos surrounding her sister Lauryn’s affair with Manchester City footballer Kyle Walker, Chloe’s plans were shattered.
“Chloe was devastated,” a close friend revealed. “She and Grant were so excited about this honeymoon. It was supposed to be a week of total relaxation after all the stress of planning their wedding. But the trolling just wouldn’t stop.”
Chloe’s torment wasn’t just a case of the usual online hate. The abuse intensified after Lauryn gave birth to her second child with Kyle Walker in April, a secret that quickly made its way to the public. And, to top it all off, Lauryn had traveled to Germany with her children, Kairo, 4, and Kinara, only 4 months old, to watch Kyle play for England in the Euros.
Chloe’s friend explained, “The trolling got worse after Lauryn went to Germany. Chloe was constantly on edge. She knew she wouldn’t be able to relax in Bali with all this going on.”
The dream honeymoon wasn’t the only thing affected. Chloe’s wedding itself had been marred by the family drama. When wedding photos were leaked, it felt like the final straw for the newlywed. And while the leaks weren’t Lauryn’s fault directly, Chloe couldn’t help but feel that Lauryn’s decisions had dragged her into an unwanted spotlight. The couple had to shell out thousands for extra security just to protect their special day.
Chloe confided in another friend after the wedding, “I felt like I couldn’t breathe. Every moment of that day was shadowed by the fear that something would go wrong. It wasn’t Lauryn’s fault entirely, but I do believe that her affair with Kyle and all the media attention it brought only made things worse.”
And the wedding wasn’t the only event that took a hit. The honeymoon, which had been Chloe’s escape from all the stress, was sacrificed too. “We were supposed to leave in early July,” Chloe told a friend, frustration evident in her voice. “But I couldn’t imagine lying on a beach, sipping cocktails, when all this drama was hanging over me.”
Chloe and Lauryn’s relationship had always been complicated, but Lauryn’s second affair with Kyle Walker was the breaking point. They hadn’t spoken properly since Boxing Day, when Lauryn sent a bombshell text message to Kyle’s wife, Annie Kilner, revealing that Kyle was the father of her daughter.
“When I found out Lauryn was pregnant again, I was in shock,” Chloe recalled, her voice tinged with disbelief. “I had no idea they had rekindled anything. I thought they were just co-parenting for Kairo’s sake. I was supportive of that. I even told Kyle it was good that Kairo had his dad around. But I never expected this.”
The tension between the sisters escalated to the point where Chloe uninvited Lauryn and her children from her wedding. “It was a difficult decision,” Chloe admitted. “Grant proposed to me in 2019, and we started planning the wedding in 2022. I wanted Lauryn to be my bridesmaid, but we just couldn’t get along.”
Chloe explained the strain: “It’s like trying to help a friend who never listens. I had to protect my own family at that point.”
Chloe made the tough call to uninvite Lauryn, and despite the guilt she felt, she stood by her decision. “I had to be selfish,” Chloe told a friend. “I don’t think the wedding would have been a safe or happy environment for Lauryn’s kids, and I will explain that to them when they’re older.”
Another point of contention between the sisters was Lauryn’s decision to take her young children to Germany to watch Kyle play. Chloe was adamant that it wasn’t safe given the media circus surrounding Lauryn’s affair with the footballer. “We argued a lot about it,” Chloe said. “I just didn’t think it was a smart move, and I told her that. But Lauryn does what she wants, and I had to deal with the fallout.”
Despite everything, Chloe still tries to ensure that her children, Isla and Hudson, maintain a relationship with their cousins. But the relationship with Lauryn remains strained. “I wish things were different,” Chloe admitted to a close friend. “But right now, I have to focus on my own family.”
Chloe’s story is a stark reminder that family drama, when played out in the public eye, can have far-reaching consequences. For now, she and Lauryn remain distant, with no reconciliation in sight. “I’m not ready to forgive her yet,” Chloe said in a rare candid moment. “And honestly, I don’t know if I ever will.”
In the end, Chloe’s honeymoon may have been canceled, but the real loss is the bond she once shared with her sister. And while she’s doing her best to protect her own family, the wounds from this sibling rivalry run deep. Only time will tell if they can heal.
